Dear All,

On Monday, we had a meeting with Jesus Ruiz (new to FIWARE) to talk about
EBSI and how TOKEN can align with EBSI.
Here you can find the meeting minutes
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rOv_Wm7SahIHKU--plnDxjqUL46yL2zTQ3oSpftRg-M/edit#heading=h.shkn48rnnu25>
.

Here are some key points from the meeting:

*Update on EBSI*

   - The goal of EBSI, since the project started in 2019 has been to set up
a blockchain network across Europe with a decentralized governance model
i.e to build a trusted blockchain network.
   - Up until now, it has been difficult for external collaborators to work
with ESBI because it was not mature enough but now there is structure in
place and official documents to refer to.
   - There are 30+ EBSI nodes around Europe which are being deployed by
member states and public entities. Our partner CERTH hosts one of the EBSI
   nodes in Greece.
   - The legal governance will be managed by the EBP (European Blockchain
Partnership) = EU commission + the governments. The governance of the
infrastructure and the network will be managed by the member states and
will be open for the public sector and in the future also, the private
   sector.
   - European SSI is the priority and all of the 4 EBSI use cases are based
around this topic. EBSI SSI components are in the pre-production stage.

*EBSI SSI Wallet Conformance Testing*

   - EBSI wants to be the standard of Wallet providers.
   - EBSI has made a reference implementation of the bank-end services and
the wallet. They want providers to check if they are compliant with the
   EBSI standard.

How to be aligned with EBSI

   - EBSI will not be the only blockchain network in Europe but would like
to be the standard. There is a registry of Trusted APIs and trusted
Ledgers which
will enable interoperability with different blockchain networks.
   - All applications should be built on top of the exact same APIs as
EBSI, then the EBSI APIs can be used on top of any other blockchain network.
   - To become a trusted entity, you have to go through your government or
join the early adopters programme (first round is closed, currently no date
   for next one).
   - To become a trusted issuer of verified credentials, you have to go
   through your government.

Next Steps

   -

Jesus to provide the required documentation on the ESBI APIs in order
for Jorge to review what is required to adjust the TOKEN APIs to become
   EBSI compliant.
   -

CERTH and Jorge to review the current status of the CERTH wallet and
what is required to make it ESBI compliant.

Regards,
Lynda
