Hi Luigi,

Ok, Thanks for the clarification. I had put (too much) focus on the
reference due to the importance of timeliness of the analysis (of whether a
tech is disruptive or not).

Anyway, I believe we have a consensus on considering as disruptive tech:
1 – IoT

2 – Cloud (maybe extend it to refer to “Cloud, Edge and Fog”

Maybe we can also mention we’re contributing to securing 3 – AI & ML, as
long as AI takes an important role in the use cases / applications.

Best,

Sérgio

Dear Sergio.

That was by no means meant to be “the” reference, rather it was an example
(among the many possible). Any reference which can be used as evidence of
condition 1 (There is wide consensus on considering the technology
disruptive) can do. I do not even want to get into a discussion which
reference is better. We can use multiple references. I am just saying we
cannot claim a given technology is disruptive because Luigi Romano (or
Sergio Figueiredo) think so.

Dear Luigi,

While I agree with the outcome of the analysis (which is still up-to-date),
I believe we should base ourselves in a more recent reference, e.g.

https://www.wto.org/english/res_e/booksp_e/wco-wto_e.pdf

or

https://professionalprograms.mit.edu/blog/technology/top-disruptive-technolo
gies/.

Best regards,

Sérgio

Dear all.

As discussed in the telco, to be credible when claiming that COSSECCO has an
impact in terms of “secured disruptive technologies”, the following two
conditions must hold:

1.	There is wide consensus on considering the technology disruptive
2.	COSSECCO solutions improve the security of the technology

I uploaded to the “Reference documents” folder a report by McKynsey titled
“Disruptive technologies: Advances that will transform life, business, and
the global economy”. The report classifies as disruptive the following
technologies:

1. Mobile Internet

2. Automation of knowledge work

3. The Internet of Things

4. Cloud technology

5. Advanced robotics

6. Autonomous and near-autonomous vehicles

7. Next-generation genomics

8. Energy storage

9. 3D printing

10. Advanced materials

11. Advanced oil and gas exploration and recovery

12. Renewable energy

IMO, we can confidently claim that COSSESSO secures 3 and 4, and possibly
claim that it also secures 1.

Best

Luigi R.
