Please find below a pair of updates/comments to draft DoW, concerning the inclusion of Torino as smart city.


1)      Description of activity performed by Torino in Annex IX, page 536

Please substitute the current text (which is a simple merge of the role description of new beneficiaries involved) with the following one, which is a more focused description:
Torino (Italy). POLITO and TOWL, with the support of Municipality of Torino, will contribute in exploiting solutions and capabilities offered by the FI-WARE platform within the Torino Smart City scenario. The Municipality of Torino has expressed its interest in Future Internet technologies to accelerate the Smart City development and has confirmed its support for accessing set of Open Data concerning urban safety and security issues to be shared with the FI-WARE developer community. POLITO will participate to the FI-WARE project by offering its expertise in the field of database systems and data mining techniques. POLITO will contribute to the realization of the scenario that aims at making available on FI-WARE the set of Open Data provided by the Municipality of Torino, allowing their access and usage by the FI-WARE developer community. Technologies provided by the FI-WARE platform will also be exploited to process the Open Data collection and, possibly, provide useful insights to Municipality (e.g., visualization of specific city state conditions). TOWL will contribute to strengthen the connections of FI-WARE and FI-LAB with Torino Smart City, and to disseminate the FI-WARE results and the related opportunities for service/application developers (including SMEs and Web Entrepreneurs). Taking advantage of TOWL role in coordinating the regional ICT Innovation Cluster and the National Technological Cluster on Smart Communities, a wide dissemination of project results will be ensured to SMEs, Web Entrepreneurs, large enterprises, public stakeholders, and any other member of its network, both at regional and national level.


2) Description of Task T10.7 at page 220 (this a clarification I need, to avoid incurring in issues with the Municipality):

The contributions expected by Cities are introduced by the following sentence:

Cities from different regions are selected on the grounds of diversity (geographic, cultural, scale) and technical suitability. They are expected to at least contribute with (but not limited to): (...bullet point list follows)

I assume that the list of contributions described by the bullet points following the sentence in red is the 'union' of all contributions by the smart cities involved, while the specific focus of each city is the one described in Annex IX. More specifically,  Torino will not be in the position to provide media streams, and I need to ensure they won't be asked to do it, as this is not their focus in the use of FI-Lab.
Can you confirm this assumption?

  As you know, this amendment establishes the extension of the project until month 41 (i.e., end of September).   However, some of the partners have decided to finalize their activities by end of month 36 (i.e., end of April).   Provisions to handle this are given in B.13 - Annex X referred from section B.1.3.8.   Please make sure that your organization is listed in the right category (partners finalizing their activities in M36 or not) within that annex.

  It is our intention to submit this draft to our PO this Friday April 11 at noon so a period for comments is open until Thursday April 10th (tomorrow) EOB.   There have not been many changes since the last draft we distributed on February 14, and there are not so many changes overall compared to previous amendments, so its revision should be pretty straightforward in our opinion.    Nevertheless, this will be a draft so our PO has to review it and may come back with some changes.
