Dear all,

I want to share with you an internal  message that in principle went to individual GEs in Data.

I want to make you aware that we are not playing the usual game and that we will not be delaying the "good ones" because of the "sluggish ones". If the EC knows what GEs deliver late, they will be the ones who have to have to bear the pain, not the others.

This may apply to open specs, all manuals & software. Of course we will try to avoid it but we will not be delivering weeks and weeks late because a single partner failing to do their job. In fact. I will amend the draft message to explicitly state those who fail to deliver and make it clear to the EC.

Yesterday we had a meeting where we stressed the need to deliver asap. Basically, we have been working for more than one year in R4 and all should be ready by now (since the end of September, actually). It is a matter of putting all together and this is mostly the work of the chapter leader. All he needs is that the different GE owners provide the pointers to the work that must have been internally delivered months ago. Supposedly, all of you are working on R5 now (except for the Metadata Store Management Platform GE which was discontinued).

If all the work is properly done and ready, the information that Santiago is asking for is just links. So writing a message to him with the info is trivial and takes 10 minutes. To the best of my knowledge, these GE owners are not providing the links (or providing them incorrectly):

  *   CKAN
  *   Social Data Aggregator
  *   Social Semantic Enricher
  *   Metadata Store Management Platform

We are not following the usual dynamics of "send me 1.000 reminders and we will delay the rest of the team until we take the trouble to deliver". This time we may make a point of delivering without the GEs who did not deliver on time and then re-submit with those delaying the others. This may entail nasty consequences for the GE owner but this is your choice. A draft of the delivery message follows.

Dear Ragnar,

This is the delivery of D.1.3.2.a  FIWARE GE Open Specifications (Data chapter). Please find it attached to this message. It is also publicly available on our wiki:

and the attached document is also publicly available on our documentation repository on the forge:

As the delivery of the Open Specs for each GE is completely decoupled from the others, we have decided to make a first delivery with those who deliver in line with the internal planning and those who have failed to provide the info will be delivered at a later stage in a resubmission of this document. We will try to avoid multiple resubmissions (definitely not one per GE, we will try not to burden you) but at the same time we need to make available those GEs that are already there in R4. I am hoping that you support this approach for coming deliverables.
