dear colleagues,

during last msc meeting and by email by gonzalo on last 11th may the new
msc charter have been presented. since we did not receive any objection we
can consider the charter in force.

the very first step is to elect the cochairs.

as reference person in the fiware foundation boo of this msc i'm taking the
lead of this delicate initial step and this is why i'm writing this email
and not gonzalo nor ali. to both of them goes our deep appreciation for the
work done so far as chair and vice-chair following the previous charter.

the election process follows exactly the successful experience we had for
years now in the yearly election of gold member representatives in the
board of directors and maybe some of you already know it. i'm here
describing it to be sure all of you are on the same page.

step 1)
those of you intending to present his/her candidature for the position of
cochair shall send (*only to me* as i'll share the candidates all together
so not to bias the process) an email telling if you would like to nominate
yourself or any person of your organisation as candidate for such position.
in the case of yes, please add a short paragraph (half/one page max) to be
used to tell to the others who you are and why you think yourself to be a
good candidate for the position. deadline for your answer is next friday
26th may 2023 at 17:00 cet.
although this latter fact is not explicitly mentioned, we expect those
organisations who did not pay yet the annual fee to abstene to candidate
themselves or, if they wish so, to make their payments urgently and
certainly before the 26th may.

step 2)
this way on 29th may, as required, i can launch the elections week (i.e.
the voting period will end on 2nd june at 17:00 cet) with a dedicated email
telling to all of you at the same time who are the candidates, providing
you all their candidature statements, and describing the voting procedure
in detail. as in the charter, the voting system will guarantee secrecy and
not improper voting (double voting, two or more persons of the same
organisation voting, etc.).

step 3)
on 2nd june at 17:01 i'll communicate the results. if the ballot does not
provide a clear result (e.g. candidates with the same amount of votes
bringing the number of possible elected persons to more than the 3
positions), i'll call a new ballot cycle only among those who got equal
votes.
the goal is to end the process before the fiware global summit 12-13 june
in vienna.

please acknowledge you have received this email.

we need as always your passion for the success of fiware!
thank you again for your kind collaboration on the matter.

ciao,
stefano
