[Fiware-lab-federation-nodes] User management

Hi Fernando, all,

A suggestion for a FLUA ticket with multiple nodes assigned could be solved by cloning the ticket and assigning to the node requested by the user.

It would make sense to have a clear process in case such situation happens. We will mention this in the next a/c.

Best regards,

Bruno.

Dear Bruno,

Sorry for that, If I receive a FLUA ticket that was approved its requirements, I usually assign the requests that it suggests. I do not take into account any comment due to I suppose that that decision was taking by L1 FLUA team.

If it is not the way that we should work, we should clarify the issue for the future. Take into account that the user request explicitly servers both Spain, Mexico and Zurich.

Fernando

Hi all,

Today a user assigned a ticket to our region [1] requesting help for an specific issue.

For our surprise (again!) we did not assign any resource to that user nor enabled him using the user management tool in the cloud portal.

The user has created a vm in our system and it is using our resources.

Checking Jira we could see that Pasqueale Vitale and Fernando upgraded this user to Zurich2, ZurichS, Spain and Mexico.

We thought that the process used in FIWARE would involve assigning the FLUA ticket to us so we are aware that there is a new user in the system and could change quotas accordingly with what was requested.

I'm not sure what is the current process for enabling users in fiware but if it has changed and the FLUA tickets are not assigned to a node team anymore it would be great if node administrators get a notification whenever a user is enabled. This would avoid situations where the node cannot provide the resources requested by an user.

Best regards,

Bruno.
