Hi, Regarding "New PR: on the stable.apib to remove parts that are not mature enough (note that these part will not be removed from latest.apib, so discussion on they will continue to eventually produce the next stable iteration of the spec) and to change the "Status" section to a disclaimer in the line to what it was discussed in yesterday audio (i.e. explaining that the specification is stable but slight changes due to further discussion may happen)." I think it is a good idea to start working in advance in the wording for that "Status" section. We should find a paragraph that captures with enough precision the maturity level of the released document so (as we talked in past week audio) developers have all the information to make informed decisions about using or not using software based in that specification. This is a first proposal: "This specification is a release candidate of the NGSIv2 API specification. By "release candidate" we mean that the specification is quite stable, but changes may occur with regard to new release candidates or the final version. In particular changes may be of two types: * Extensions to the functionality currently specified by this document. Note that in this case there isn't any risk of breaking backward compatibility on existing software implementations. * Slight modifications in the functionality currently specified by this document, as a consequence of outgoing discussions. Backward compatibility will be taken into account in this case, trying to minimize the impact on existing software implementations. In particular, only completely justified changes impacting backward compatibility will be allowed and "matter of taste" changes will not be allowed. The following items are under ongoing discussion, so next release candidates of this specification will tackle them: <List to be provided>" Please, go ahead with any suggestion you may have. Even complete re-wordings if you feel the above paragraph doesn't capture precisely the status of what we are going to release in the upcoming days. @NEC: regarding <List to be provided>, do you expect any progress on this by tomorrow afternoon, please? In negative case, maybe we should cancel tomorrow audio meeting. Thanks! In fact, you will realize that some of the changes are derived from NEC feedback in past emails during last week. In addition, you can use the "LGTM" (Looks Good To Me) acronym in comments to express you are fine with the changes. Next steps are: 1. Close and merge that PR by next Monday EoB (I understand that 2 bussiness days is ok to review a short PR) 2. New PR: do a proof-read on the whole document. Ken Zangelin has volunteered to do that. 3. New PR: copy the current .apib. So at this point we have lastest.apib and stable.apib (not the actual names, but good enough for the discussion in this bullet list) 4. New PR: on the stable.apib to remove parts that are not mature enough (note that these part will not be removed from latest.apib, so discussion on they will continue to eventually produce the next stable iteration of the spec) and to change the "Status" section to a disclaimer in the line to what it was discussed in yesterday audio (i.e. explaining that the specification is stable but slight changes due to further discussion may happen). * Needed input for item 4: the "Release Notes" on open discussion topics that we were discussing yesterday. As far as I understood, NEC will provide this input (please tell me if I'm wrong). I understand that the above plan is aligned with what we discuss on yesterday audio but if that is not the case, please tell me so. Thanks!
