Hi Monique, I wil try to answer these concrete questions. 1. MWC - There are no plans for FIWARE to be present as an sponsor, neither at MWC nor at 4YFN (the side event for SMEs). However, some activities are under study right now: - There is an agreement in place with GSMA to showcase some of the SMEs in the program. This was widely announced to the A16 community by FI-CORE in summer time and a selection was done. If I remember well there where links with Korea, so probably FIWARE Mundus could play a role here, but I need to check this with Telefonica. - Some announcements are expected to happen there, regarding the OSC and the outcome of the FIWARE nodes Open Call resolution. - Finally we are investigating whether there will be some value for SMEs to attend 4YFN. We asked the organizers for possibilities, but always funded by the SMEs themselves or their respective Accelerators. FIWARE as a brand will not sponsor this year. 2. Net Futures - I suspect that Mario Campolargo will be very keen on having relevant presence of FIWARE at the event. Nothing planned yet, but if it is like last year we will be asked to register as exhibitor and for the conference by e/o January. So the situation will be clear by the Milan meeting timeframe. 3. ECFI - Not as the last ones, but yes, it is foreseen that an ECFI4 (maybe with another name) will be held. At the moment it looks much more like a political/stakeholders event to be placed in Brussels, with heavy involvement from the EC also. If this is the case, I assume FIWARE Mundus will be interested in communicating as soon as possible to your contacts in the different countries / regions. Let me know. CONCORD is coordinating this with the EC. Last but not least - I3H is organizing a big event in Montecarlo (their final event) for June 1st. I cannot disclose a lot now but Susanna Varho has the plan to involve all PPP actors in this. More news to come soon, again probably will be disclosed in the Milan meeting / SB. Anything else? Let me know. In the immediate we were wondering about presence at events like: - Mobile World Congress 2016 in February in Barcelona - Net Futures Conference in April 2016 in Brussels Not sure if they are in the radar, but in any case it would be good to coordinate on efforts. Also a question that we were asked from some outsiders is also about ECFI. Will there be any future edition of it? Thanks again and regards monique On 12/15/2015 4:54 PM, Pablo Honrubia wrote: > Hi Monique, > > Thanks for the e-mail below. In fact we are discussing these days what the event strategy and calendar will be in 2016, specially at the sight of the available budget and the fact that both FI-CORE and CONCORD, the funding projects for the Press Office have been extended for three more months, until e/o 2016. > > We will produce a shortlist of events which will have the commitment of the Press Office in terms of sponsorship and/or materials. As all of you know this initiative was born and is driven directly from the EC, but there is no budget allocated on our side unless we remove some other activities. We expect to have this call as soon as possible before Christmas. > > The overall idea is to have a closed plan to be presented at the A16 meeting + SB in Milano e/o January. Being 2016 the last year of EC support it is mandatory to allocate resources from now on. > > Should you have any additional question, please let me know. > > Best, > Pablo. > > -----Mensaje original----- > De: fiware-office-comms-bounces at lists.fiware.org > [mailto:fiware-office-comms-bounces at lists.fiware.org] En nombre de > Monique Calisti Enviado el: martes, 15 de diciembre de 2015 15:56 > Para: fiware-office-comms at lists.fiware.org > Asunto: [Fiware-office-comms] FIWARE events > > Dear Colleagues, > in order to better plan FIWARE Mundus and Regions activities in the > next > 6-8 months we would need to have a clearer idea of the planned upcoming events, including the planned FIWARE Roadshow ones.
