Hi Juanjo & al, One thing to consider for the education in FI-WARE technologies is to record your training sessions and make the videos and presentations/slides available online, and also linked with the related FI-WARE documentation/specifications. We did this successfully in the environmental/geospatial community when we had our ENVIP (Environmental Infrastructures and Platforms) event at EnviroInfo in 2010. We had a regular workshop with presentations and discussions, but also recorded the presentations – and then made the videos and the slides and the documentation available online, and also on http://videolectures.net/envip2010_bonn/ See also the website below, including also the slides and the documentation: http://ifgi.uni-muenster.de/~pajoma/persistent/ENVIP10/<http://ifgi.uni-muenster.de/%7Epajoma/persistent/ENVIP10/> Given that ENVIROFI has the M12 review in the same week as the first educational session, and then there is an ISO/TC211 standardisation meeting during the week of the second educational session – it will not be possible for everyone that wanted to attend in the two scheduled weeks. Such a solution would make it possible also for those not available for the current schedule to get the necessary education, and also for people that would consider it later . It might even be enough to run the sessions once, and then make the recorded presentations available for the next groups – and thus save time and effort also for the FI-WARE experts. This would also support more efficient virtual meetings between FI-WARE and the UC projects, as the focus then could be on questions and discussions – without a need to repeat the training part for every project. Hi Kolja, What you say is true ... that's why we will have to work with some margins to manage the uncertainty. But given said that, we will have some estimation about (minimum size to book) and what week a given UC project is concentrating in if you fill the spreadsheet. As per the agenda, a quick summary of what we agreed yesterday during the FI-PPP AB virtual meeting continuation confcall: * Sessions from Tuesday to Thursday of a given week will be structured in two parts: * one dealing with parallel session on chapters (a session per chapter) where FI-WARE will present and will answer questions from UC projects * one dealing with presentations by UC projects typically on the afternoon (say it, from 15:00 to 18:00 or from 14:30 to 15:30). We will structure the agenda of this part during a given week depending on the number of UC projects attending that week, typically a UC project presenting during one day, maybe two projects the same day. Ideally, we should cover four projects within Tuesday and Wednesday, therefore the eight within the two weeks * In order to prepare FI-WARE sessions, FI-WARE will run a dedicated virtual meeting with each UC projects before the educational sessions. The FI-WARE project will agree with each UC project on what date this virtual meeting will take place. This will allow us to prepare contents of the FI-WARE sessions better. We didn't talk about this yesterday, but I would assume Monday would be most probably devoted to FI-WARE, maybe including some general introduction slot. We should agree on a starting time but I believe 14:00 should be Ok so let's go for that time unless somebody objects. People should arrange trips to leave on Friday (at least people from FI-WARE and the UC projects who will present on Thursday). This information should allow you to arrange trips ... once we have agreed on the venue :-) But for such an important decision like where can the sessions of a week be hosted, we need at least the rough numbers of people attending as well as the expressions of interests recorded by UC projects before TODAY EOB !! Dear FI-PPP AB members, The Google spreadsheet at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqGGeaQGro3fdC1zSUdlVjJ2WldESHZmZU13bTdjT3c#gid=0 is still far from complete!! These education sessions are for our own (UC projects) benefit. Please provide the information in this Google spreadsheet ASAP (original deadline was end of day today). This is mandatory so that FIWARE can plan the sessions, find a suitable location etc. There is a lot of planning to do and the least we can do is provide them with our attendance requirements on time. In our conference call today we also agreed that each UC project will take some time during the education session and present to FIWARE its planned architecture (also getting some immediate feedback from FIWARE persons). This will be better achieved if all the partners of each UC will attend the education session on the same week. It is not mandatory (as it may not be possible) but would certainly make planning of the education sessions easier.
