Friends,

I would like to nominate myself for the Technical Steering Committee (as
individual member).
As many of you know, I have been involved in FIWARE since 2011, leading
IBM's involvement in the project (across several chapters), and acting as
the leader and the architect of the Cloud chapter. I have been leading the
early adoption of OpenStack in FIWARE since 2011 (when OpenStack only
started to gain momentum), and more recently was one of the main
proponents to adopt Docker (which also reflects an emerging industry-wide
trend). In the last couple of years, I have been also working with several
additional open source projects and communities relevant for FIWARE
ecosystem, such as Apache Mesos, Apache Spark and Apache Kafka.
Being actively involved in several open source communities, I helped
forming FIWARE community as not just based on open source, but also open
development, open governance and open ecosystem (taking OpenStack as a
'model', with necessary adjustments). This includes being among the few
people actively contributing to the FIWARE governance model definition.
However, as you know, this process is just starting, and, if elected to
the TSC, I will be happy to help guiding the emerging FIWARE community
towards full and successful adoption of these important principles.
Moreover, given the enormous pace of innovation around the interception
between Cloud, Big Data and IoT, I aim at putting emphasis on reuse of
existing and emerging technologies, making them 'native' part of FIWARE
architecture, and ensuring interoperability and cross- fertilization of
the relevant communities and ecosystems.

Regards,
Alex
