Dear FIWARE enthusiasts, A IoT4Tourism hackathon is being organised at ICCE Berlin (co-located with IFA) on September 3-4th. During these 2 days, participants will be encouraged to build upon complementarities of 2 systems: FIWARE and oneM2M. This hackaton will encourage creativity and innovation and will also be the place for participants to build end to end applications, understanding trendy technologies such as LoRaWAN for low power/long distance device connectivity (development kits available on site) and semantic interoperability allowing cross domain / cross platform data exchange. In order to prepare for that event, a serie of webinar is being organised * August 04 at 09:30 am: IoT for Tourism (Rémi Druilhe, CEA Innovation, France), recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2-vYkgUtGY Based on the experiences of a French Ski-Resort, in this webinar, Rémi introduces common needs of tourists and touristic sites and how the Internet-of-Things could be used to address these needs. Covered topics are the guidance of tourists, improvement of touristic services, and gamification of tourist experiences. * August 11 at 09:30 am: How to Build IoT Applications (Haris Aftab, Sejong University, South Korea), Add to calendar<http://wise-iot.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Wise-IoT-webinar-How-to-Build-IoT-Applications.ics> Based on Seijungs strong experience in developing IoT technologies and shaping the oneM2M standard, Haris introduces the participants to the development of applications that use the Internet-of-Things. The covered topics are the oneM2M architecture, real-time coding of a simple application that uses IoT, and a discussion of lessons-learned. * August 25 at 09:30 am: IoT Device Connectivity (Abbas Ahmad and Sabrine Fatnassi, EGM, France), Add to calendar<http://wise-iot.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Wise-IoT-Webinar-IoT-Device-Connectivity.ics> The webinar proposes to introduce two emerging IoT platforms: "oneM2M" and "FIWARE". In order to get familiar with the different platforms, a discovery of each set of API's proposed by the IoT platforms as well as an introduction their standard protocol is presented. A step by step demonstration on how to connect devices to back-end application in a Smart Parking scenario will be made For more information, please check the hackathon web page and register freely at: https://iot4tourism-2017.devpost.com/ This event is being organised by the H2020 Wise-IoT<http://wise-iot.eu/> project.
