[Fiware] Message from the FIWARE CEO

Dear colleagues of the FIWARE Community,

this week, Spain had to face yet again new attacks almost simultaneously in
Barcelona and in Cambrils.

Part of our history and center of several FIWARE activities is Spain. The
intend to create the FIWARE Foundation was formally announced for the first
time at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Since that time we
participated in several events in this city and will be back for the IoT
Solutions World Congress early November of this year. The origin of the
victims (among the death 5 are Spaniards, 2 Italians, 3 Germans, 1 from US,
1 from Belgium and 1 from Portugal) brings the clear message that terrorism
is a global problem that affects every nation.

We are all deeply shocked by this terrible acts and I personally want to
express my deepest sympathy and compassion to all our Spanish colleagues
and their families on behalf of the FIWARE Foundation.

My thoughts are with the victims and their families, and I know that you
join me in our solidarity.
