[Fiware-apps] [Fiware-wpa] State of the Art Analysis – Emerging Technologies

Dear WP3 members,

For our WP3 contribution to “State of the Art” deliverable:

First we need to fix contributors now - and after that proceed with TOC, writing, etc. (see mail from Miguel below with information from him on this).

Please be reminded, that academic partners are seen as major contributors here for this deliverable.
And, If I get it right, the team of the WP3 task 3.3 (Business Framework) can (and should) contribute here as well.


I see three Todo’s now for us with Deadline Friday 26.04. EOB:


(1)    @ALL: Please check suggested timeline by Miguel (see below his mail) if ok for you:

May, 7 - Contributions from chapters to be sent by email (consolidated in a single doc per WP)
May, 10 - Peer Review ready (academia partners)
May, 17 - Feedback incorporated
May, 20 - Delivery


(2)    @UDE: would you be able to be the lead editor?



(3)    Contributor list: We have polled today with result in today’s telco (please correct otherwise) (missing were: UDE, TI, THALES, ENG, EAB, DT):
- ATOS: Contributing
- TID: Contributing, but may not lead effort
- SAP: Contributing
- UPM: Would like to contribute, but has lot to do for Live Demo, very difficult to contribute due to timeline (will check until Monday if timeline ok)
- Iminds: New, rather not


@UDE, TI, THALES, E-IIS, EAB, DT: Please indicate with mail to me/all how you see your contributor role in the deliverable?

State of the Art Analysis – Emerging Technologies.
This deliverable provides a view on the state of the art, concerning technologies that are considered relevant to the Future Internet. The document will analyze the most recent technological advances as well as innovative market disruptions and user trends that may impact or are already impacting the Future Internet. It will also analyse the activities and recent results of the most relevant initiatives and projects at national, European and International level.
This analysis will help to identify which are the major differentiation points of FI-WARE components released in month 12, 24 and 33. It will also help to identify gaps as well as technologies in which to focus further work.

Dear all,

As you are aware, we agreed in the last WPL/WPA call to create a skeleton based on the State of the Art in the DoW. I am sending you this skeleton that you can start filling in now. This needs to be heavily edited by each WP. The one who drives the process is the WPL and the WPA.  The main actor here should be the academia, as expressed in the DoW. I encourage the WPL/WPA to primarily rely on them for this work.

Note that we do not want a section per GE, try to group in sections like the ones we have now, not GE per GE.

This will be  edited directly on the Word document as the result will not go to the wiki. Each WP will deliver their section by the 7th of May.

I remind you the schedule (the one on the minutes of meeting)

·         April, 23 - Skeleton ready

·         May, 7 - Contributions from chapters to be sent by email (consolidated in a single doc per WP)

·         May, 10 - Peer Review ready (academia partners)

·         May, 17 - Feedback incorporated

I will consolidate all the inputs and will put a brief text in the introductory sections.
