Dear WP3,

1) For this new backlog review mail, please let me know your opinions so that I get an overview if/who has problems with this.

From my personal / WPL side, I would as before with backlog try to be rather pragmatic for our chapter since at this point in time (it was different maybe before) other chapters might have more severe problems here…So I would like to try to close as many open issues ASAP (most of us have not even done this exercise…while not much is needed is most GEs). For example, for the newly proposed word-limits mentioned below by Manuel: I personally would try to be pragmatic and first see how big the impact would be for our chapter (for other chapters the picture might be different) and if just-fixing-them would be ok or if the effort would be huge…For SAP GE’s in WP3 we will just check how many issues would be there with this problem of violating some word limits and then decide. I guess, not many issues will be found (for SAP) so we could just fix the word-limits and close this issue simply….but for your GE’s you have your own opinion which I want to know

So please check for your GE and I would like to hear from you, what is your opinion on this – OK / Not OK somehow?
Although I guess it will not be a big deal, I nevertheless expect that in the next WPL/WPA meeting this might be discussed and I would like to have an overview from you all which I could report when asked.

Let’s do a simplified POLL with a simpler poll mode: If you do not reply to me, I will count your company as “We accept and will do the changes proposed by Manuel” for simplicity, so only rejections need to mail to be.
@ALL: you may mail until tomorrow Friday 21.3 EOB your opinion to me or the APPs list (better).

2)
Besides this, I plan to ask TID next Monday WPL /WPA meeting to freeze any backlog / dashboard XLS definition now, so that until M36 we know what is needed to deliver. What is done in M36-M40 ca<n be decided then, but until M36 I think the XLS from Manuel can be finalized in its structure and guidelines now. I am also interested in your opinion here?

Best wishes
Markus

Subject: [Fiware-ge-owners] Backlog Content - Reviews - C7 - Open descriptions included

Dear GE Owners,

I’ve just finished to implement the last criteria missing in the backlogs reviews: C7 – It cares about the open descriptions of backlog items provided in the wiki.

The main realization is the great variability of our descriptions (#words): Min = 0; Max = 560; Mean = 73.4; Std Dev(σ) = 51.4

[cid:image001.png at 01CF43AB.11EF2E70]

In order to overcome this situation I’ve defined a frame to reduce this variability, which encourages descriptions in the frame 60-250 words.
Obviously actual quality of descriptions can only come from you by providing meaningful and informative paragraphs.

The inferior limit of the frame for the description window is implemented as follows:

==> Goal field (>= 10 words)

==> Description field (>= 30 words)

==> Rationale field (>= 20 words)

I hope you find it sensible!!

Current reports also provide views for each individual GEI’s distribution, a good example shown below:
