dear matteo,

thank you for having shared the link of the catalogue. it allowed me, but i
hope also other colleagues, to feel the first breath of fi-ware!!!

however, having reviewed it i have some main suggestions which should be
ready now, certainly before the fi-ppp ab september meeting (12-13 sept):

1. instead of just "catalogue", i'd call it "generic enabler
implementations catalogue". this is a bit more precise, as the users do not
find there the catalogue of the "generic enablers" but that of their
implementations!
in this context, i do not think it is strictly important that the names
here correspond to what is in the fi-ware project deliverables. what i mean
is that what is in the catalogue is the "implementation" of the ge which
correspond to precise marketing policies. as an example think about the
"wirecloud mashup platform". as such it is the implementation of the ge
"compopsition editor" and NOT that ge, so perfectly legitimate in this
catalogue it has a more "attractive" name. think how much this will
important to smes that want to set-up a business selling geis!!!
so as a solution i stronly suggest in the overview page of each gei to have
a mandatory field with the link to the related ge open specification. this
is critical becouse at the end of the day this what qualifies the gei!!!
here i have a doubt (mostly for juanjo): are we sure all the gei share
exactly the same apis??? i have honestly my doubts ...

2. i'd suggest to add a tongue menu, or whatever mean you think better,
under the option "enablers" containg the chapter names, so the users can
browse the gei through chapters in a more coherent way and not in an
uncoherent (meaningless?) alphabetical order.

3. in the "instances" page i'd add a mandatory field with the url from
where the ge apis are accessible.

4. the catalogue should run on the testbed already from this testbed v1. i
think this is a strong message not only for the fi-ppp community as a
whole, but also for po and reviewers.

5. for users outside fi-ware i think the distinction between what they can
find under the "instances" page and "downloads" page is rather unclear. i'm
sorry, but i do not have a suggestion here. perhaps, after changing the
overal name from "catalogue" to "generic enabler implamentations catalogue"
solves automatically this ambiguity.

for further releases of the catalogue i'd suggest:

1. to have the overview page of each gei structured the same way

2. may be in the same overview page to have also marketing, commercial and
legal info, of course we can also have an ad-hoc page.

my two cents...

congratulations,
stefano
