I think that a good starting point is to start with a F2F meeting after we have clarified not only our starting point but their starting point too. That's mean that a brief presentation in PhC about what is our objectives and what they want to use from us is enough for now. It could be useful to understand what each WP needs from other WPs. Personally, I think the following items could be relevant: 1. Gain general understanding of the scope of other WPs, identify potentials inter-dependencies 2. Keep track of progress of related WPs -- requirements, design, etc 3. Interlock on specific inter-dependencies 4. Review relevant parts of relevant documents produced by other WPs 5. Code integration In my opinion, subscribing to the working mailing lists of the related work packages does not serve well either of the above goals. Maybe we can think of a more efficient scheme to collaborate across work-packages -- perhaps, a combination of email, Web site (blogs, wiki, etc), periodic conference calls and/or F2F meetings, etc. Thoughts? I don't see that it is a bad practice that partners other than the one officially involved in a WP are registered in that WP's mailing list. But I'm not religious on this. I copy the fiware list because I believe that the issue is common and the response is also relevant for other WPs. I subscribed to this WP in order to understand the implications for WP6 (data/context management services) informally. In case we only have the active contributors on the WP lists, we should have some other (more formal) means to exchange information between WPs. Plenary meetings might not be enough IMO. Juanjo, is there a general rule how we should handle this? Kind regards Peter PS: To make it clear: I do not have problems not being on this list (less emails to read :-). I was just wondering about "cross-WP information exchange". _______________________________ Peter Amon Corporate Research and Technologies Imaging and Visualization Siemens AG Corporate Technology - CT T DE IT2 Otto-Hahn-Ring 6 81739 Munich, Germany Tel.: +49 (89) 636-54642 Fax: +49 (89) 636-51115 mailto:p.amon at siemens.com Siemens Aktiengesellschaft: Chairman of the Supervisory Board: Gerhard Cromme; Managing Board: Peter Loescher, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer; Roland Busch, Brigitte Ederer, Klaus Helmrich, Joe Kaeser, Barbara Kux, Hermann Requardt, Siegfried Russwurm, Peter Y. I'm not aware of the involvement of your company in this work package, so I have unsubscribed you from the mailing list. Please, let me know if you do plan to be actively involved.
