WP4 reporting contribution from Intel. If anything else is needed let me know ASAP.

Andy.

Task T4.1's (lead by Intel) objective is to provide the enabling technologies to power virtualisation within WP4. The work is closely aligned with T4.2 (Resource Management) and there has been active collaboration between these two tasks. It will be the virtualised resources offered out as services, which will form an essential service on which other WPs and UAs can build upon. In particular, the following work has been carried out beginning in M1 up to M6:

- Analysis of required functionality. This has been based on the partner's knowledge and reflected in the FI-ware wiki [1]. Education, exploration and experimentation with various key baseline assets of WP4 is also ongoing.
- Contributed to the high level description deliverable, which also includes the high level architecture of WP4.
- Identification, initial assessment and detailing of baseline assets including appropriate standards (OCCI, CDMI). Those assets can be seen on the FI-ware wiki page [1].
- Definition of epics, features and tasks related to T4.1 have been placed on the FI-ware wiki [1] and corresponding entries in the Cloud Hosting tracker [2].
- Lead monitoring activities within WP4, including identification of baseline assets, description of epics and features. Also contributed a monitoring architecture. A prototype implementation was also assembled for further evaluation.

Other activities related to this Task were:

- Supervised the WP4 to WP8 (security) integration and reflected the outputs of considering input from WP8 upon the FI-ware wiki.
- Participation in Madrid kick off
- Participation in Turin F2F

Hi Fernando,

I did not know about this. Is Xavier doing the aggregation work for the WP4 report? The reason I'm asking is that there was a gap in communication among the partners. Should we send our contributions for WP4 to Xavier for aggregation??? I'm kind of confused who is responsible for what. In any case, I would gladly let Xavier doing this work of aggregation. Please confirm that he is responsible for this.

Concerning the content of your contribution. As Miguel specified in his instructions:

"Do not provide a breakdown of what each partner has done. The description is general and presents the results as the outcome of teamwork. Punctual mentions to specific partners with specific and clearly defined tasks are allowed but avoid enumerations of partners everywhere! That is to say, you must describe the achievements of your work package as a whole, not the achievements of each partner, going one by one. "
Can you please take a few minutes to slightly edit your contribution to follow this instructions? In your tasks, you start with "TID as a leader", etc.

Thanks for promptly responding on the section numbers.
Dear partners, please follow Fernando's example and communicate your contributions to me promptly.

Thanks.
